It is only with the heart…

In a prior post I made reference to The Little Prince by Antoine de St. Exupery.Thank you https://susieshy45.wordpress.com/  for asking about the Little Prince. St. Exupery was a pilot and an author of many books. The Little Prince is probably the most well known of his books. It is a lovely story and eerily prophetic as St. Exupery’s own plane disappeared somewhere over the Mediterranean in 1944.

TLP is the story of a pilot whose plane breaks down in the desert and while he is there repairing it, a Little Prince from a distant asteroid appears there and has a story to tell.  The story is philosophical in tone and addresses friendship, love and to me the challenges and curiosities, of adult living.

Like many others I prefer the original translation by Katherine Woods.  There are many quotes that are famous from this book, and the character the Fox has some of the most memorable. The fox teaches the Little Prince about friendship and says, “it is only with the heart that one can see rightly.  What us essential is invisible to the eye.”
